Day 1: Entebbe
Welcome to Uganda, a brilliant African tapestry of wildlife, natural beauty and mountain landscapes. After landing in Uganda's buzzing capital, meet your guide and acclimatize to your new surroundings. Situated on the shore of Lake Victoria, Africa's largest lake, Entebbe's local culture is sure to impress.
Day 2: Entebbe - Kibale Forest
Head west to the lush forests of Kibale Forest National Park, a vast protected area known for its population of chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys and grey-cheeked mangabeys, and embrace the sights and sounds of the wild. (Meals: breakfast)
Day 3: Kibale Forest – Queen Elizabeth National Park
Spend the morning relaxing at Rwenzori View Guesthouse or exploring the area at your own pace. Nature aficionados cannot miss out on an exciting optional tracking excursion to spot the region's chimpanzees (chargeable). Later on, head to Queen Elizabeth National Park, famous for its population of wildlife including tree-climbing lions. (Meals: breakfast)
Day 4: Queen Elizabeth National Park
Rise before the sun in order to set out on a mesmerising sunrise game drive through the national park, where you’ll have the chance to spot lions, buffalo, elephants, leopards, and hyenas – if you’re lucky. In the afternoon, take a cruise down Kanziga Channel, home to hippos, crocodiles, and buffalo. (Meals: breakfast)
Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You’ll take the scenic route driving to your next destination of Bwindi National Park, passing through the high bushes of Ishasha, with its famous tree-climbing lions. You'll then arrive at the iconic national park, where endangered silverback mountain gorillas call this national park home. (Meals: breakfast)
Day 6: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Today is the big one, where you'll search for the regal mountain gorillas, making your way through the vibrant vegetation of the rainforest until you reach them. You’ll observe them grooming, interacting, feeding, and going about their lives – a truly incredible sight to behold and one you won't forget in a hurry. (Meals: breakfast)
Day 7: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - Lake Mburo National Park
Trade abundant rainforests for endless savannah as you make your way to Lake Mburo National Park, where lions, hyenas, zebras and giraffes roam free. By the lake, try to spot crocodiles and hippos (from a safe distance!) while ogling spectacular views during a game drive. (Meals: breakfast)
Day 8: Lake Mburo National Park – Entebbe - UK
A bush walk or another game drive early the next morning will be your best shot at seeing all these amazing creatures up close for the last time, with the help of an expert guide. Afterwards, you’ll pack up and head back to Entebbe, stopping on the way for lunch at the Ugandan equator. Then, catch your flight back to the UK. (Meals: breakfast)
