Day 1: Lima
Touching down in colourful Lima, a sprawling city rising above a coastline of crumbling cliffs, you'll check into Allpa Hotel & Suites. Get settled and head out to explore the rhythm of your first Peruvian city.
Day 2: Lima
Acquaint yourself with Lima on a city tour, seeing its Historic Centre, the Santo Domingo Convent, the districts of Miraflores and San Isidro. Savour a visit to the Chocolate Museum, learning about high-quality Peruvian cocoa, and stop in the Parque del Amor on the way back for a coastal photo opp.
Day 3: Paracas
Today you'll head south along the coast to Paracas by bus. Once here, discover this small port town's beautiful beaches and fascinating wildlife.
Day 4: Nazca
Sail to the Ballestas Islands today, where you can see thousands of birds, sea lions and seals in their natural environment, from Humboldt penguins and South American sea lions to marine birds. The famous Candelabra design, a figure of the Nazca culture engraved in the desert, can also be seen from the boat. Later, travel to Nazca, famous for its mysterious Nazca lines. The region has a strong heritage of viticulture, although today it's one of the driest places on earth.
Day 5: Arequipa
Choose to take an optional flight over the Nazca lines (£104 per person). In the afternoon, catch a bus to Arequipa and stay overnight in one of Peru's most important economic and industrial centres and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Day 6: Arequipa
Today you have the choice to take an optional city tour of Arequipa (£31 per person), or spend the day exploring by yourself, taking in the fascinating architecture and imposing buildings against a backdrop of breathtaking natural scenery.
Day 7: Colca
Travel to the Colca Valley, an ancient area boasting sweeping valleys and the famous giant Andean condor. En route, pass through the town of Yura, the spectacular landscapes National Reserve of Aguada Blanca and stop in Patapampa. Pass through Chivay before arriving in Colca.
Day 8: Puno
You'll head into the valley for an unforgettable visit to the Cruz del Condor, the best viewpoint for watching the iconic giant condors fly across the sky. With an average wingspan of nine foot, the Andean condor is immersed in mystery and legend. Afterwards, travel to Puno, home of the world-renowned Lake Titicaca.
Day 9: Puno
Enjoy a day at your leisure, enjoying the views of Lake Titicaca. There's an optional excursion to Taquile and the Uros Islands on Lake Titicaca (£31 per person).
Days 10 & 11: Cusco
Take a bus to Cusco then travel to enjoy the South Valley's marvellous landscapes. Visit the 17th-century church of Andahuaylas and the ruins of Racqui, also known as the Temple of the God Wiracocha. After lunch, discover La Raya, the highest point on the highway between Cusco and Puno. Back in Cusco, you'll check in to your hotel. The next day, embark on a fascinating half-day tour of Cuzso, starting in the iconic Plaza de Armas and visiting the Cathedral, then seeing the Koricancha Temple, an impressive ancient Inca palace. Finally, visit the lively San Blas neighbourhood, known for its artists, shops and artisan workshops.
Day 12: Machu Picchu
An exciting day at Macchu Picchu awaits - head to the train station to board the scenic Voyager or Expedition Train to Aguas Calientes. Arrive and transfer to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the Modern World, for a tour of the site's different sections. Return by train to Cuzco.
Days 13 & 14: Cusco
Enjoy your last full day at leisure in Cusco to soak up the local culture or go shopping in the markets. Opt to go on one of two Sacred Valley excursions. The next day, you'll take your flight back to the UK.
