Lose yourself in island life amidst the Indian Ocean, with a cultural Réunion stay before all-inclusive paradise on the north coast of Mauritius - includes excursions and all travel

Day 1: UK/Ireland - Night on board

Head to your departure airport to catch a flight to Saint-Denis, the capital of Réunion. Night on board. (Meals: in-flight)

Day 2: Saint-Denis - Saint-Gilles

Land on the French island of Réunion, known for its mind-blowing natural beauty, from volcanoes to rainforests, vanilla-growing highlands and deserted beaches. From Saint-Denis, travel west to Saint-Gilles and check into your hotel before a tuk-tuk ride to the marina to board a romantic sunset cruise. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 3: Saint-Gilles - Cirque de Cilaos - Saint-Gilles

Today you'll discover the island's beautiful interior. Head southwest and stop in Saint-Leu to admire the rocky coastline and the Souffleur Geyser. Continue through Saint-Louis city into the awesome mountains. You'll pass traditional Creole huts, enter Bras de Cilaos Valley on a superbly bendy road, and descend into the forested caldera of Cirque de Cilaos, a pretty, high-altitude, vineyard-lined valley. Learn about Réunion arts and crafts at an embroidery centre before a classic Creole lunch. Then, you'll return to the coastal paradise of Saint-Gilles and the rest of the day at leisure. (Meals: breakfast and lunch)

Day 4: Saint-Gilles

Soak up a relaxing day at leisure, either chilling by the pool, slipping into the warm Indian Ocean off L'Hermitage Beach, or exploring the local Botanical Gardens or the idyllic Egrets Basin Waterfall. There's an optional scenic panoramic helicopter flight over the island to see Piton de la Fournaise Volcano and more (£331 per person). (Meals: breakfast)

Day 5: Saint-Gilles - Piton de la Fournaise - Saint-Gilles

Jet off via 4x4 to the island's most famous icon, the Piton de la Fournaise Volcano - one of the most active volcanoes on the planet. En route, stop at Bourg Murat to take in the breathtaking views, and Nez de Boeufs, where you can capture an extraordinary panorama of the canyon. See the idyllic mountain village of La Plaine des Palmistes, before crossing the dramatic Riviere de l'Est suspended bridge and reaching the region of Sainte Rose. Here you'll be stunned by the lava flows from past eruptions. Continue on to discover the island's most loved and pivotal natural product, vanilla, seeing and smelling the plantations. Lunch at a local guesthouse before departing to see Cap Méchant Peninsula's rolling waves. Return along the coast to Saint-Gilles. (Meals: breakfast and lunch)

Day 6: Saint-Gilles - Saint-Denis - Mauritius

Wave farewell to vanilla-scented Réunion and fly to neighbouring Mauritius, known for its crystalline waters, white sand and tropical flora. On arrival, transfer to the hotel to check in. (Meals: all-inclusive)

Day 7: Mauritius

Relaxing wholeheartedly on an all-inclusive basis, today is yours for the making. Kick back at your luxury hideout or you could visit Grand Bassin crater lake in the south of the island - a key sacred place of worship for Hindus. (Meals: all-inclusive)

Day 8: Mauritius

Another day all to yourself, or join an optional full-day excursion to Port Louis, including an old sugar mill visit with rum tasting and a visit to Pamplemousses botanical gardens (£96 per person). (Meals: all-inclusive)

Day 9: Mauritius

Today you might like to check out a traditional market under your own steam, or join optional tour to the south of the island takes in Curepipe town, Trou-aux Cerfs dormant volcanic crater, Ganga Talao lake and sacred Hindu site, and La Vanille Crocodile Park (£102 per person). (Meals: all-inclusive)

Day 10: Mauritius - UK/Ireland

Your idyllic Indian Ocean island hop ends today and you'll fly back to the UK/Ireland. Please note that if your return flight departs in the evening, your arrival in the UK/Ireland will be the following day. (Meals: breakfast, in-flight)
